We’ve managed to survive the recession relatively unscathed and we are now making expansion plans for 2011 and beyond, which will require us to recruit a range of new specialists in telematics, security and low speed crash.

Due to our continued growth, SBD is pleased to announce the following vacancy:

Graduate ITS & Telematics Technical Analyst

You will be responsible for researching and writing technical reports in the areas of automotive telematics and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) .The role will consist of both desk and field research followed by extensive analysis and the composition of easy to read, high quality, technical reports.

Ideally you should have an engineering degree from a leading University, and demonstrate a keen interest in our business sector. You should be self motivated, a confident communicator with an enquiring mind and an eye for detail.

Your writing should be clear and concise and you should be able to easily explain technologies and jargon. Our reports need to be well structured, so excellent planning skills are essential.

Knowledge of one or more of the following would be desired but not essential:

  • Automotive technology
  • Telecommunications
  • Telematics
  • Electronics
  • In-car entertainment
  • Intelligent transport systems (ITS)
Skills in Word, Publisher and Excel would be an advantage. Ability to speak and write in English is essential, German is desirable.

Marketing Assistant

Assisting the Marketing Analyst with all aspects of marketing administration; your key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring our customer database is up to date (training will be provided)
  • Assisting in the preparation of marketing literature
  • Preparing mail-outs to existing and potential customers
  • Internet research to identify suitable events and publicity opportunities for the company
  • Build and maintain a file for Media contacts
  • General administration including filing, photocopying, scanning, printing and post
You will need to work well as part of a team and be able to use your own initiative. You should have confident telephone communication skills as you will be contacting companies by telephone. Your data entry skills should be fast and accurate and you should have excellent attention to detail. You will be regularly using the internet so you must demonstrate confidence with web browsing and internet searches. Our ideal candidate may have previous experience in a Marketing, Customer Service or Administration role.
