Theft risks for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles

Hybrid electric, plug-in-hybrid electric, electric vehicles and other alternative fuel vehicles are dominating the future plans for the passenger car market. Almost all vehicle manufacturers have either released or are expecting to release at least one alternative fuel vehicle in the near future. New markets bring new challenges in terms of vehicle design and also in the fight against vehicle crime.

BMW smart key gets smarter

Prior to the Paris Motor Show, SBD reported that BMW were due to launch a new smart key related feature that allowed customers to unlock and lock their trunk without using their hands.

Malaysia to introduce mandatory immobilisers

The Malaysian Road Transport Department have recently announced that they will mandate the fitment of an "anti-theft" device on all new vehicles.
