SBD celebrated joint success with Toyota yesterday as the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards (BIVSA) were announced at Thatcham’s Triple Focus Event.
The Toyota Land Cruiser V8 claimed the award for the Large 4x4 (recreational) category for the 4th year running, while the Toyota Prius T3 and T Spirit took the Green Car award for the 2nd year in a row.
SBD has been working with Toyota for more than ten years, with their UK division leading the way in vehicle security. The other awards were largely dominated by Volkswagen Group who claimed 11 of the 21 awards across their Audi and VW models, also including the overall Car Manufacturer award; an award given to the manufacturer with the most model ranges where every variant in their respective model range satisfies the awards selection criteria.

There was also a new award presented at this year’s event. As a testament to the adoption of the Thatcham process in Sweden in 2008, Thatcham created the International Vehicle Security Award to recognise the manufacturer with the most eligible model ranges across both the UK and the Swedish markets. The award was claimed by Volvo.
