Telematics Project - Product Strategy

Case study - SBD was requested by a global vehicle manufacturer to help develop a technical and business strategy for telematics in Europe.  The activity was triggered by the EC’s target of having eCall available on all new models, and so SBD provided an appraisal of the competing private and public solutions and lead the development of a profitable business model based on additional telematics services.  The resulting strategy included a detailed analysis of customer needs, competitor activity, legislative trends and technical feasibility.

 

Outcome - the client is now implementing a bespoke telematics strategy that anticipates the potential requirement to offer eCall and that is tailored to the specific needs of its customers and to its brand positioning in Europe.
