Building on SBD’s research into Telematics, Navigation and Traffic information in China, David McClure spoke exclusively about how to develop telematics services for the Chinese market.

David’s presentation at the recent Telematics Japan conference includes:

  • Understanding the specific characteristics of China including the market drivers that position telematics as a solution
  • Recognising the local challenges in terms of technology available, licensing issues and differences in service providers
  • Appreciating what OEMs need from Chinese partners and what is really possible in the market

David focuses on vehicle related services like eCall, remote diagnostics and stolen vehicle tracking as well as Bluetooth technology and portable navigation devices.

He also introduces the opportunity to learn what Chinese consumers and dealers really think of telematics with a brand new SBD End User Survey.
